“The poets eye carries the ability to see beauty everywhere.” An observer, listener, ponderer, dreamer, curator, editor, reformer, refiner…aka a girl with the habitual day-dreaming pastime of pouring over sprouting ideas, first drafts, raw elements, etc. to discover the wonder, beauty and brilliance aching to be revealed. My un-kickable habit: reading a paragraph, studying a bookcase’s arrangement, scrolling a website, flipping through a closet, thumbing a magazine, etc. and wondering how I would improve/refine/elevate/redesign/repurpose/curate my subject at hand. At the risk of sounding nauseatingly pompous, I can’t help but feel kindred to Michelangelo’s sculptor approach - to see a vision and then carve away what doesn’t fit. My favorite seat on the bus is helping a vision come to life through strategy and refinement. Mix a little beauty, some intentionality and a whole bunch of personality, and magic usually appears.
